Human Writes aims to promote social justice activism at UCSD and beyond. It serves to publish written pieces, promote events, and provide a community networking tool around activism and involvement.

Hello,
My name is Melissa and I am an intern at the UCSD Women’s Center. I am writing to you because I am starting a Social Justice Blog for my Gender Action Project, and I would love for you to be a part of it!

The purpose of this project, entitled “Human Writes: A Social Justice Journal,” is to spread awareness about social justice issues, to get people excited about and involved with social justice activism, and to also create a tool and resource for activism of all kinds. The blog will hopefully incorporate a wide variety of pieces including: articles, essays, stories, poems, interviews, videos, art, news, and history, into a lively and appealing website that encourages awareness, discussion, involvement, and activism. Another goal of the blog is to serve as a community networking tool in which members of UCSD and beyond can communicate regarding social justice issues, and publicize events, programs, and projects.

I would really appreciate any type of contribution from you about any social justice issue in whichever form expression you would like! Contributions can be any length ranging from 200-1000 words, can center on any topic related to human rights or social justice, and may include pictures, graphics, hyperlinks, and/or videos.
